Engineering
|
Identify
the hardware (and software) that is needed to satisfy
a customer's network requirements. The decisions as
to specific equipment needs are based on network requirements,
network element functionality and capacity, and the
application of engineering rules associated with each
network element. System Engineering will factor in
and support products from multiple vendors that may
be integral to the customer's telecommunications environment.
In addition, Engineering may also configure site requirements
to ensure that the correct site material is ordered
and that the optimal equipment layout for the installation
of the ordered equipment in the customer's site is
determined. |
| Site
Record Engineering |
Provide
detailed record keeping which accurately documents
physical placement and configuration of specified customer's
equipment. Depending on the customer request, this
can involve the initial creation of site records, updating
of existing records, or ongoing maintenance of the
customer's records. Some of the records that may be
requested are floor, cable, lighting, and grounding
plans, wiring lists, fuse assignments, circuit layout
records, sketches, etc. |
